Pre-Garden Tour Highlist - The Butler's

The North Mobile Garden Society Spring Garden Tour is this Saturday, May 9th!!!! WHOO HOO!!! We have been planning for over a year, and the time has finally come! I am so excited. I hope we have a great turn out!
Sunday all of the Garden Club members had a preview tour. Since we will all be working at a particular garden the day of the tour, we decided to have preview so everyone could see all the gardens. We probably had 40 people including members, & husbands. Good group. 2007 was the first year of the Garden Tour, and Ramona said there were only 6-8 people on that preview tour. Boy have we grown!
I am going to highlight some of the gardens on tour everyday this week. I have previously posted on 2 of them. I will link to them at the end of the post.
We are going to start the week of with Evelyn and Mike (aka Yard Slave) Butler!
Evelyn started her garden in March of 2008. She has worked in it religiously everyday since then....and it shows! The Garden gang! She just painted this shed a week or so ago!
The arbor Yard Slave built...very nice
Another Yard Slave creation!
Great beds!
This I must have! Buddleia, Butterfly Bush. Janie (club president) gave a cutting of this to Evelyn...and look how beautiful it is! I am getting a piece of this right after the tour is over!
Isn't it beautiful!

Hope you all enjoyed the Pre-Tour. A good friend of mine who is a professional photographer will be photographing all the Gardens of Tour for us this Saturday.

Just beautiful and so much accomplished in just a year? There is a yard slave somewhere isn't there? Your neighbor's yard is nice too, and those moss covered boots? I have two pair of my husbands old work boots sitting around the gardens. Yesterday my 24 year old was visiting, (girlie girl) and she said, "Yuck Mom those boots have mold all over them, throw them out!" I just laughed, tried to explain, she didn't get it....

Nice. It's great to see the gardens from such a distance (as Idaho). Thanks.

Darla - That is too funny! Mold!! HA! I am going to cover my chair in moss...oneday...I need to get around to that. I get outside and forget about things I wanted to so, then it dongs on me in the middle of the night!

K&V - I will have more for you throughout the week. Wish you could see them in person

Rusty - I am so excited. We have been planning this for a year, and it is finally here! I doubt I will sleep Friday night from pure anticipation. Glad you like the music ;)

The whole garden is very lovely. Love that arbor! Great job to the Yard Slave. I hope the tour goes well too, I bet it will be a big success.

Evelyn and Mike have a beautiful place! I can see there has been a lot of work going on.
That butterfly bush is sooo pretty.
Can't wait to see more garden tours.
Have a great day.

Hi Princess, man, yard slave Butler is a hard workin' guy! Love that the gardening has been non stop since the beginning too. That is the right way to immerse oneself in the process. Good luck with the tour. :-)

Tina - I need Yard Slave to come to my garden and build a few things for me!

Pam - I want to get before photos from her...the transition is astounding

Frances - She has completely thrown herself in. She didn't garden before. I can credit her for getting me to join the Garden Club :)
