Fertilizer Friday

Its FRIDAY!!!! That means it is once again time to flaunt your flowers over at Tootsie's! Click on the photo below to go directly to Tootsie's place. We have gotten a really good rain every afternoon this week :-) YEAH!!!!
So everything is beginning to get loaded with buds! One of many Dinner Plate Dahlia's blooming!
Ok...I am not going to call this one yet. This is one of the many flowers I got from our Hunting Camp. I think it is a crinum?!?!?! Ideas???
Mexican Petunia
New Bee Balm
Old bee balm!
Mexican Petunia
Cosmo about to bloom. Whats the yellow stuff on the stalk?
Althea
Zinnia
Cosmo
For the past 2 months my cosmos have had only a bloom or two....since all the rain, now every bush is loaded with BUDS!!!!
Once again the camera is foggy...I have GOT to STOP taking pictures in the morning!
Here is a partial shot of the front bed.
another view, check out woolly booger of a cosmo!
Another bed
Over all view of the front bed (well almost overall)
I took this photo to show you just how foggy the camera lens gets! This is between one of the 8000 times I wiped the lens off. I finally said the heck with it!!!!
This was a mystery to me, until yesterday. The Hunter called me to tell me he had thrown some watermelon seeds out in the flower beds. They are coming up!!! The problem is that he threw them out in 4 or 5 beds....no planning involved! So who knows where I will have watermelons popping up! This one is in the rose bed!!! UGH!!! This weekend is the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo at Dauphin Island. It is a pretty big deal around here! The Hunter fishes in it every year. So we go stay at the island for the weekend. I can't wait to get down there tomorrow and get some pics for ya'll! It is so much fun. You get to see all kinds of fish being weighed in from grouper to bull sharks! Anything and everything! You can check out their website and see photos from the previous years! http://www.adsfr.com/
Have a great weekend

Beautiful blooms, that may be a crinum it does resemble one. Happy FF!
P.S. I think all the rain is stuck over here we are having a record amount of rain for July which is very unusual for us, August is our rainy season. Have a great weekend!

What is rain? Your beds look so nice and the Hunter's mulch is holding up nicely. That is a Crinum, some call it a Cannon Ball Lily because the bulbs grow very large. I believe you have aphids on your flower stem. You will not believe what I just did in the garden, come see and get a giggle.

It always amazes me when things actually grow from seeds that were just thrown outside. Of course if you wanted to grow watermelon it probably wouldn't cooperate. Enjoy your weekend at Dauphin! -Jackie

I'm definitely trying dinner plated dahlias after seeing yours this year. My Cosmos look the same, just waiting to pop open. Still no rain here, I'm enjoying the sun and luckily the plants seem to have gotten used to it.
Have a fun weekend, take lots of pictures of the fish. I've only fished a few times.

Lovely as usual and I do believe it is a crinum and the yellow stuff are aphids with a few ants eating their honeydew. I hope you have a wonderful weekend..are you taking puppy with you?

I have tons of Mexican Petunias growing everywhere in the garden, they are becoming a nuisances, but they can take the heat so I let them be.
Have fun this weekend

Isn't it exciting after the rain to see so many buds. Lots of Cosmo. I recently discovered that is what I have growing in one bed but I didn't get a pic before the flower was gone. Beautiful lily.

Outside In...that is crazy! Normally we get tons of rain, but are far behind this year. I do think it is a crinum, but I thought the swamp lily was a crinum as well until it bloomed! LOL!

Darla the mulch is really holding up well...thanks for noticing ;-)! I am GLAD you are getting some rain!

Jackie I grew all of my cosmo and zinnias from seed as well, and only about half of them made it! So you are right!

Florida Sue I hate I have aphids! UGH!! I don't know if I am going to take him yet or not....he needs a leash

Rusty I do love Mexican Petunia but they are VERY invasive and can take over fast! Luckily they are easy to pull up!

Susie I am going to try to get you some good photos!

Lynn, althea...rose of sharon...I call it an althea.

Esther so glad you are finally get some MUCH needed rain! I hope it perks everything up!

Becca I am happy that the cosmos are loaded with buds!

Vonnie thanks :-)

Prospero I am worried about that watermelon! I need to stop taking pictures in the morning and it won't fog up. It is just so muggy in the mornings

English Garden, it is aggrivating! It is so muggy in the mornings it just fogs up! I have tons of mexican petunia. I got one peice from my mom 3 years ago and now it is everywhere. It multiplies FAST and spreads if you don't watch it! It pulls up very easy, so if it grows somewhere I don't want it to, I just pull it up!

Princess - I know absolutely nothing about Mobile, Alabama so I just had to say Hi from Minnesota. (I found you at Tootsie's) You talked about heat/humidity there. You probably won't believe it but it's not unusual for us to have 90% humidity along with heat. Altho it's been cool this year. Anyway, I love, love your flower pics. If you get a chance to visit me, you can see what we manage to grow in Minnesota.
