I recently became best friends with them thanks to Kiki.......
and Tide....................................
Yes, they are cute, and they look sweet and innocent. But every afternoon Swiffer, Hoover and myself get to spend quality time together cleaning up after those two! I need an animal therapist! Oh lawd help me!!!!!!!!! They are driving me NUTS!!!!!!!!
Where to start......Kiki hates Tide....which is understandable...she was the baby first. But there is no need for her to go around peeing on things.....that's not scoring you points with mommy Kiki! Don't' bite the hand that feeds you. I love her and play with her, and yet everyday I find somewhere that she has peed just to piss me off. Is she doing this to infuriate me, or because of Tide....and maybe she is marking her territory?
My entire house is wood floors or tile. I currently have ZERO rugs in my house....NONE, NADA! Why....because of those 2! No rugs at the doors to wipe you feet on, none in the bathrooms, none is the living room, none in the laundry. Because it never fails that if Tide has to do #1 or #2....he WILL do it on the rug. WHY? Pee or poop and the hard surface flooring where I can spray Clorox and clean it up! Geez give me a break! So no rugs......
I am aware that cats shed. But NO ONE told me the dogs shed 10 million times more than cats! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
This is where I owe the WONDERFUL people at Hoover my sanity! The Hoover Floormate is the best invention man every thought of. It is for hard surface floors. It will vacuum, it will mop, and best of all....it will vacuum and mop ALL AT ONCE!!!!!!!!!!! It has 2 tanks, one for clean water, and one for dirty water. You put hot water and cleaner in the clean tank, turn her on....and BAM! Your floors are clean. You don't have to sweep before you mop because it does it for you! I cannot say enough about this thing!!! What I can tell you is that it sucks up about 2lbs of dog hair in a weeks time! The Swiffer has become the "quickie" of choice! I use it to clean the are around the back door....since WE HAVE NO RUG! As soon as I get home...I start cleaning poop and pee! Nice huh! We keep Tide in the laundry room for now until he is old enough to go out....which better be soon! So I get the joy of coming home and cleaning up his mess after work. I am OVER it! I don't want my house to smell like poop or pee........so if it does....someone let me know! I can't stand dirty floors. It makes me want to vomit when I walk across the floor and get hair and dirt stuck to my bare feet! Yes, maybe this is some kind of OCD problem....but I don't like to have "grocery" store feet in my own house!
Now...moving on to more important things....WEEDS!!! If I have time this weekend in between cleaning up dog/cat hair and poop and pee....I plan on weeding! The weeds are out of control! I have to make time to do it!
I also have to get busy on wedding stuff. My brother is getting married August 29th in Montgomery, AL. I am in charge of the decor for the rehearsal dinner. I have picked out some AWESOME stuff. I will share that with ya'll after the wedding. But I have to get started on the arrangements and the other small things.
The great news is that I get this barb wire (aka braces) off my teeth August 25th!!! WHOO HOO!!! I hate them almost as bad as dog poo! I have had them on for 18 months. I had to get them because I had TMJ really bad. It has totally fixed that! So now they can come off! My orthodontist promised me they would be off by the wedding....and they will :-). So I don't have to look like Ugly Betty in the wedding pics!!! LOL!!!
Sorry ya'll had to listen to me vent about Tide and Kiki. I love them both dearly....I just HATE the mess!!!!!!! I am working with him and teaching him to go outside. The problem is that if he doesn't see you, he hasn't learned to bark, then I would come let him out. If he see's you, he will go to the door and bark letting you know he needs to go out. So therefore I have to monitor him like a baby. Kiki....well I don't know what her deal is. My house & my garden are just one big hot mess right now....Oh....and so am I!!
So feel free to give advice here.....

Perhaps there's an alternate meaning to Dirt Princess that you hadn't considered.
I know that you love Kiki and Tide. Just try to hang in there. It's toughest at the beginning till every one learns the rules and figures out the new situation.
What a cute pup! When I was in college, I lived in a house with 2 other guys and we all had dogs.... a lab, a dalmation, and a german shephard. The house had all hardwood floors. We all quickly learned the value of a good mop! If only the Swiffer Wet Jet had been invented back then.....
Hang in there. The hair problem will not go away but the other stuff will. I recommend you buy some puppy pee pads. Buddy still has accidents sometime and the pee pads really help. He may miss the pad but you see he is trying. Tide will reward you when he is grown and be a beautiful and well behaved pet.
Prospero is funny!! You need a life size poster of yourself to put where the dog can see it and maybe he will bark to go outside, LOL. I don't do animals in the house very well. We have a cat, she has her on bathroom and that's where she sleeps, eats and goes pee and poo. She sleeps in the sink filled with towels and stuffed animals at night. More important here..the orange Zinnia looks like the Fanasty variety.....very pretty..
Oh, dear! Dog, cat, weeds, braces, wedding.... Your life is full! You need a shot of vodka! (What else a Russian can advise?!)
Girl, we have a ninety pound dog and two cats in the house, including a long-haired one, so I feel your pain. We have an older floor mate and it is definitely less disgusting than mopping.
Your flowers look SO good! Rain last night killed or nearly killed all sorts of stuff in our yard :(
I bet my weeds are bigger than yours heck I don't even see any weed, all I see is beautiful Zinnia's. You can send Kiki to me my 3 would love a new playmate.
hugs, Cherry
Oh My---the joys of having pets!!!!! We used to have a Cocker Spaniel (black one). She shed so much--I couldn't keep the carpets cleaned at all. It was a constant mess. I haven't had a dog since then --but IF I ever get another one, I want a REALLY short-haired dog. How 'bout bald???? ha...
The pee/poop is another problem entirely. Have you tried to get him to do his business on some papers. You can leave newspaper on the floor in one out-of-sight place and teach them to use the paper. Rewards help-- and he'll learn quickly (until he is old enough to know to go outside). Good LUCK!!!!
Congrats about the braces... I'm sure the wedding rehearsal dinner decorations will be marvelous... Keep us posted.
Hugs,
Betsy
hey...have you had the cat fixed??? that helps with the peeing...I am no stranger to the hair...lol....I also know when my other cats were healthy they did not have accidents...but the vet told me that the "accidents" were them trying to show me they were sick...but they were normally immaculate before that...so it was a cry for help.
I have a dog and a cat now...the dog sheds buckets!!! and it is like wool...oh the things we do for our babies!!!
I am a clean a holic...but never tried one of those hoovers...might look into that...my kids are PIGS
Prospero...I am trying....I just keep taking deep breaths...LOL!!
Becca pee pads are too expensive and he is already 23lbs..I just use newspaper
Darla...I wish they would stick to a certain place!
Tatyana....you are right!!!!
Ginger...I LOVE my floormate. It is wonderful! The rain beat down a lot of my plants as well :-(
Cherry I didn't photograph the weeds...LOL!!! Trust me it was hard not to! Oh am going to keep my sweet Kiki...she is just mad
Betsy...he has newspaper in the laundry room and thats where he goes. But he will pee in the kitchen also. I am pretty sure that they are "marking" each others territory at this point
Tootsie she is fixed. I am pretty sure she is doing to because #1 she is mad/jealous of him (she was the princess), and #2 she is marking her territory...I have taken her to the vet before when she peed on stuff. I bought her this precious cat bed, and she would pee on it. Never ever sat on it...just peed on it!!! Ugh!!! So I threw it out. She has peed on things before that has other cat smells on them. I dunno. The vet said they will pee on things that you will come across just to make you made (rugs in high traffice areas, beds, furniture) she has done all of the above except pee on our bed...and if that happens...I am liable to LOOSE it! Her fave spot to pee on is in our bathroom on the rug. So I moved it, but The Hunter leaves towels on the bathroom floor (go figure huh!) and so she pees on them! LOVELY!!!!!!!! YOu should DEFINITELY invest in a floormate. They are so worth it.
Aren't pets fun? I had a cat that looked just like Kiki a long time ago. Besides brushing the animals I don't know what else you can do about shedding. I'm lucky the dog we have right now doesn't shed. A huge reason why we chose this breed (Bichon Frise). The house training is the worst part. Hopefully they'll both start going where they are supposed to.
I love that orange zinnia.
Sorry to hear about your pet problems. Doesn't sound like much fun. Hopefully, Kiki will get use to Tide and maybe she will quit peeing everywhere.
Oh Dirt princess please don't use the swifter if you have pets, it had killed dogs in the past. The chemicals that are in those swifters are poisonous to animals.

I feel your pain sister! Mine is cat puke. How can two cats puke EVERY. DAY. On my rugs, on my sofa, on the entertainment center, on my chair, on my bedspread. GROSS. EVERY. DAY. To get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and step in cat puke is GROSS.
Kiki and Tide look so cute and innocent. I like Swiffer, it works well on wood and tile floor.
Catherine a lady in my garden club has a bichon frise and she was telling me they didn't shed...good deal! Hopefulle he will be going outside sooon
Outside In...I don't use the swiffer wet. A friend had told me the same thing. I use the dry ones with a organice cleaner.
Debbie well I guess I should be thankful I don't have that problem!
vuejardin they are cute, and sweet...just messy!
It helps to buy these things in BULK! :0)! Ha! When cleaning up after them it helps to think of how much you love them...and how cute they are...and how lucky you are to have them in your life..and...hey!,.....when did we start talking about my kids here?...oops!...Sorry...I guess the same applies...Smiles girlie! :0)!
