If I could be a dragonfly

There is nothing I love more than watching dragonflies. In the afternoons I like to go home, spray myself down with bug repellant, sit out in the grass.....and wait. If you wait....you will see them light all around you.......I sit and wait for them to come, and they always do. Sometimes in the most unexpected places.
If I could be a Dragon Fly

and wing my way through the sky

I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind

chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide

we would dip and we would glide

through the heavens open wideand scatter diamonds in the night sky

my Dragon Fly and me... And we would wing past our lovers

silent in the night...

to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight

my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view we do share
away up here in the air

of soft breezes through our hair

my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

My aunt is in the process of looking for a house. One of the houses she went and looked at had all of these pavers. She asked the owner what he was going to do with them, and he said he was going to throw them away. She asked him could she have them....by she, she really meant me :). I went and picked them up yesterday....all 18 of them. Can't beat free stuff!
They just need to be cleaned up, and then I will put them in their new home.

Great pics of dragonflies! I love 'em too. I love the delicate patterns on their wings - that AND the fact they eat mosquitoes!
What kind of camera do you use btw?

Cathy aren't they precious!

PC I use a Nikon Coolpix 10mp. It is not the best camera for shooting flowers, birds, dragonflies in my opinion, yes it does well, but my dream is to have a Nikon D60 or D90

I loved this post! What great pictures. I have only seen damsleflies so far, no big dragonflies, but I'm sure they'll be here soon.
I love the leaf pavers, definitely a great deal.

This is the sweetest post! I love it, and love all the photos, too. Now, I want a better look at that colorful painted thing in the background. What is that?

And those pavers are heavenly.

Catherine can you believe they were going to throw all of those away!!! Be on the look out for the dragonflies

Darla I can't wait to see your photos. I have found that the blue ones are pretty friendly, I had never seen the green one before. Last year there was a golden/copper one that I HAVE to get a picture of, but he was very stand offish, so I will have to pull a sneak attack on him!

Teresa that is my "circus" piece as The Hunter calls it. I will do a post on it tomorrow. You will be surprised to find out what it was in its former life...:)

Guess what I just saw. I was looking out the front window and noticed a dragonfly, it was busy flying around so I didn't try to get a picture. Funny coincidence.

Another cool find! Great pavers to haul around in your new garden cart. I love dragonflies but I don't see that many of them. I forgot to look, but do you have a pond? Yes those are unfurling leaves on the caladiums. They look kind of phallic don't they? Hope you don't blush too easily...

Catherine go get that camera and get out there...

Joanne thats why I have to sit in the grass and wait on them or else I will scare them off. I can only imagine what a fool I must look like sitting in the grass with my camera waiting

C&J Thanks...I love to find stuff...free stuff!

Florida Sue....blush whats that! They are really freaky, throw them in with Seymour (the hibuscus thingys) and you have quite a show

I love the dragonfly poem. Aren't you a lucky girl to receive the pavers for your garden.
