Fertilizer Friday

Another week, another Fertilizer Friday. I hope to show off some kind of blooms every Friday for the next few months...so we will see. Click on over to Tootsie's place and see what everyone has blooming.
Butterfly Ginger
Pagoda Plant

Kiki has competition...well not really, but we got a new cat. There has been a little stray kitten hanging around at work. I just can't stand see an animal hungry. It is probably only a month or two old. Today I took a cage to work and caught it. I have never petted this cat, or had any contact with it...I just felt sorry for it. I was hoping it wasn't going to be possessed! When I got her home I had planned on leaving her in the cage over night. I reached in there to let her smell me and she started rubbing on me and wanting me to pet her. I finally decided that she would probably be okay, and not run off the first night, so I let her out. She immediately jumped up in my lap and laid down! I suppose she realizes I was trying to help her. She is now laying in the window sill outside, and Kiki is in the window sill inside. Kiki isn't fazed at all by her....she is the Queen of the house. As long as no other cat is in here on Kiki's territory she will be fine.
I have to get up EARLY in the morning and head to Jackson, Mississippi. I am in a wedding Saturday. Tomorrow I have a bridal luncheon, and then the rehearsal dinner. I am really excited! It is one of my best friends from college. I don't get to see her that often, but we talk regularly. I also get to see my other best friend from college as well. I will be staying with her Saturday night. I can't wait to spend time with them and catch up. It is so funny, because in college I spent EVERY day, all day long with these girls. I lived with one of them. We had the same classes, and after class we hung out all the time. After college, I came back to Mobile, and they went to live in Jackson. One of my friends is actually from here, but married a guy from Jackson. So basically all of my best friends from college live in Jackson, MS or Tupelo, MS! I hate that! But that is just life. I wish I could up there more often to visit them. I should work on that! Pray that I have a safe trip and return home safely to The Hunter, Kiki, Tide and the new baby (not yet named).
I hope you all have a great weekend!

That pagoda plant is so unusual. I don't think I have ever seen one before.

DP, I really like your Pagoda plant. It would have to be an annual here though.
You still have roses in bloom and she is a pretty one.
You are an ole softy too.I cannot leave all these strays go hungry either even though most of them around here are great hunters. But I do not want them eating all of the birds at my feeder either so I feed them.

I really like the Pagoda plant, it's flowers are really pretty and there are so many. Many of the flowers you show are finished here so I'll just have to see yours.
Have a safe trip!

Your flowers are still so pretty. I got all excited the other day when I found a marigold bloomin' and I had a daylilly with a big old bud. The nights here are freezing so I doubt I can anticipate a bloom there, but a girl can always dream. You have a great trip, a time to remember at the wedding and a good visit with your special friends.

May God keep you safe and fill your weekend with many blessings!!!

Yeah for stray kittens. I currently have two and wouldn't have it any other way. They are just so darn sweet and I know they know when they found a good home. Have a safe trip!

Yes, that is a pretty ginger, as are your other blooms. The kitten sounds sweet. I hope Kiki comes to like it. Have fun at the wedding and such.

Thanks for your comment on my bloom post. I'm thinking the gazanias that are blooming were planted in July. I wonder if that's why they are still blooming, because I deadheaded them, and they still have energy to try to make some seeds. Are they perennials where you live, or do they come back from seeds?

Have a great weekend!
