Boo to You!

What a day....total craziness! Last night I was having dinner with some friends, and my neighbor calls me around 7:30 to tell me my water meter is busted and water is gushing out everywhere! GREAT! The Hunter was out of town, and I was a good 30 minutes away. My other neighbor called the water board to have them come shut it off....but they wouldn't shut it off unless I called! Insane....what if I was out of town, out of the country...what were they going to do let it run for a week? I called the water board, and the guy came out to shut it off! Now this is not the first time this has happened. Last time it happened, The Hunter ran over it with his truck and boat, but at least we were at home. I called him to ask him if he drove over it when he left that morning....and he "couldn't" remember. He left at 10am yesterday morning, keep in mind it got shut of at 7:30pm. I get home last night, and of course I have no water. I called a plumber this morning, and he came on out to fix it. There were tire marks (we won't say whose they were) right across the top of it. Ok....let me teach you all something, if you drive a truck that weighs 3+ tons....you CANNOT drive over the water meter! IT WILL BUST! I can't WAIT to get the water bill for this month! Enough complaining..... While I was watching the plumber work (actually I was learning how to fix it so the next time someone drives across it I know how to repair it!), I noticed a hummingbird resting on my globe! How neat! I have very rarely seen them light. I had to go get the camera, and sneak up on him, and hope he didn't see me and fly off. As soon as I snapped the picture he flew away!
I think most of you remember when the Direct TV man came out and put in a new satellite. We had one mounted on our house, and the new one mounted on a post....in my flower bed! This was a issue for me...because its ugly and I wanted to hide it. So, I planted a morning glory tree....and here she is. The downside of that, is the tree has a tendency to sway back, and lean against the satellite....this causes the satellite not to work because it can't get a signal! Ugh! I have to find a REALLY big stake to support it and keep it from leaning on the satellite!
I didn't get a THING accomplished in my garden this weekend. Saturday it was gorgeous! I however, opted to go yardselling! A town down the road from me had a big community yard sale, and I had to go check it out! It was pretty neat, lots of people there. I didn't buy anything there. Then I went to a new consignment shop, ya'll know how I love them! They had some really nice things, but nothing I couldn't live without. My last stop was at Sage Consignment (my favorite). I found a gorgeous bench for my front porch. I will share that with ya'll soon.
Saturday night I decided it was time to break out the Halloween decorations. Boy do I love Halloween....I don't know why....but I just love it! I am the only person that enjoys my decorations, and if I had kids I would really go nuts! I would transform the entire house into a creepy castle! LOL!!
A few shots from inside the house and outside. The bat (3rd picture on bottom row) I adore! He hangs above my kitchen sink...he is too cool!
I am still working on my table....I want to do something different for the centerpiece, but I just haven't gotten around to it. I hung bats from the light fixture above the table.
I hope my day goes smooth today, and I don't have any other issues! Thank goodness that I am blessed with such wonderful neighbors that look out for me!

Sorry about the meter! Maybe you could stick a flag in the ground right there so no one will be "tempted" to run over it! lol

Love the decorations! Photos are gorgeous!!

I soooo hope things go smoothly for you, you have had enough excitement for any gal.

Your pictures a marve. It's so hard to capture a hummer. The spastic little critters!

Have a very calm uneventful evening, God bless!!!

I'm glad you do have neighbors that look out for you. I can't believe they wouldn't come out and shut it off without you calling. That's nuts!

Love your decorations. I, unfortunately, don't really get into Halloween. Wish I did, there are so many cute decorations out there.

I'm glad you have neighbors that look out for you, it could've been a really big mess. Great hummingbird picture, nice that it waited for you to get your camera :)
Your decorations are looking so cute. I'm going to get ours out this weekend. The bat over the sink is a fun idea. Hope the rest of the week goes better!

Great shot of the humming bird. It is so hard to catch them holding still to get good pictures.
Ugh! Sorry about the water meter. Life always has these surprises we can just live without if they'd let us.
