Crenshaw Daylily Farm

LET THE SUN SHINE!!!! I am so happy to see some sun rays outside! It has been so ugly, foggy, gloomy, dreary, cold, damp and BLAH here for the past week. Today it is GORGEOUS outside. I really want to be outside gettin' some sun on these white legs....but that will have to wait *sigh*.

Friday I had a fun day with the Dirt Queen (aka my mom ) and the Hydrangea Queen. We ventured across the bay (aka the county next ours) to Crenshaw Daylily Farm. I have heard of this place for a while,  but I had not been. The first weekend of every month they have a yardsale in their barn. People come in and sale whatever they want. Of course they sale daylilies too.....oh and horses!!!!

The daylilies aren't blooming yet. I will have to go back when they are in bloom.

Ya'll can see it was an ugly, blah day!

This barn had a lot of stuff in it. Some stuff I liked, some not so much.

There were several chandeliers and pendant lights for sale

sewing machine

odds and ends

a snazzy metal sunflower!

this stove that I would loooove to have

except it was sold. Not sure what I would do with it, but I like it ;-)

any idea what this next picture is?????

a TELEVISION!!!! Apparently one of the first ones made! It was pretty cool looking. I like that snazzy gold banding around it.

these little knobs were cute

shame on me for what I am about to say -

I have lived in Alabama my whole life and I knew we had a few covered bridges.....but not enough to write a whole book on. I should have bought this book. It had stories, drawings, photographs, etc. Very cool. Next time I go back I think I will have to buy this.

After we left the barn, we went over to the owners house to see her gardens and horses

I am a sucker for an OLD live oak...and she had a nice one in her front yard.

a few white camellias for ya'll. Some of them had a drop of red on them.

and one more shot of that tree :-)

See ya'll later

Some of those lights were gorgeous, and hey, my mom has that vanity up in her attic! Looks like you found some pretty cool items.

Wow I didn't even know about the Daylily farm. That would only be about 30 minutes away from my house I think! I might just have to make my way over there soon!

Oh I love day lilies! I have mostly shade now, but have tucked some in everywhere I think they may make it. Love the Live oaks to and noticed so many when I lived in Mobile. Of course there's many in my hometown of Moss Point MS also. Carol

Today was beautiful here too. Really enjoyed the pictures of all the stuff in the barn. It's just fun to look at. I did not know that was a television.

The sun is out today for us here in GA as well. We have had those same nasty days and luckily, no tornadoes on our county....

Love your Barn tour and yes, get back when the lilies are in full bloom! I bet it is spectacular to see them. The items in the Barn look like so much fun. Things that make the mind ponder an incorporation into the Garden! My mind was wondering with each picture! LOL. I too love Old Live Oaks. They make such awesome statements…
Enjoy your sunshine!

What a cool place to visit. I wonder if the yard sale vendors pay to rent space in that barn? Do I see your cowgirl boots in that mirror?
